Da Norrköping Dolphins var I Åbyhallen på besøg for at spille træningskampe fik aaifbasket.dk en snak med holdets helt store profil Gee Gervin. Gee er søn af den tidl. NBA superstjerne George Gervin aka. The Iceman. Måske den NBA spiller nogensinde med det bedste finger rul! Gee Gervin har spillet et par sæsoner for Dolphins i Sverige hvor han har vist sig som noget af en scoringsmaskine. Han er født i 1976 og måler 188 cm.

Where have you played prior to Norrköping Dolphins
- Ohh I have been a lot of places. I got here 3 years ago before that I was in Brazil, in the NBA Summerleague, CBA, ABA and with the Harlem Globetrotters. In college I played for Houston and coach Clyde (red. Clyde Drexler).

How did you end up in Norrköping?
- On my basketball travel I ended up in Italy at a summerleague in Treviso. Here my coach today, Kelly Grant, made contact and then I was in Norrköping. At the time I was travelling with The Globetrotters and was looking for a contract, so everything worked out for the best.

Growing up with an NBA All Star dad, how was the pressure on you?
- Not to much pressure but I got to do a lot of things because of my dads play. We are completely different players, he was big and I am small.

Teammate David Bergstrøm on Gee and Georger Gervin:
- Gervin is an amazing player, he can score at will and against anybody. I think he has a lot of game from his dad – his finger roll and touch is amazing and we all know what his dad could do!

What has been your greatest basketball achievement so far in your career?
- I must say: Seeing the world. Getting the opportunity to see the world with the sport that I love. But also I must add that the best is still to come…

How do you rate Danish and Swedish basketball – if you have to compare?
- The Swedish players are bigger and more physical. Also I think there are more old players in the top Swedish league. The Danish players are very quick and talented with the ball a lot of the teams want to run very fast. We want to take some of that game with us back to Sweden – we love to play quick to in Norrköping.

Who is the best team you have played here in Denmark?
- I think the team that looked the best was Horsens. The beat us and looked like they knew their roles well. Also they looked comfortable shooting in their arena. Aabyhøj is very quick and a good challenge for us. We thought we were quick but we are not close to these guys.

What can we expect from you and The Dolphins this year?
- We are big with our new guy Pavel but he is young and still learning the game. One difference from other years is that we can stop people this year on defence. We have never had a problem scoring and that wont be a problem this year either.

What position will you end up in?
- Simple: Top 3 easy!
